Saturday, Aug. 15, is Free Tomato Sandwich Day at the Athens Saturday Market. Market organizers will use their growers’ fresh tomatoes on soft, white bread, slathered with mayo and sprinkled with salt and pepper.
The market is open from 8 a.m. to noon at the Green Street pavilion. Sandwiches will be made as long as supplies last.
