Wynette Knight age 87 of Sulligent, AL passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 in the North Mississippi Medical Center South Marion in Winfield, AL.
Born May 12, 1938 in Lamar County, AL she is the daughter of the late Joel
Thomas and Daisy Spruiell Lucas and the wife of the late Grady Lynn Knight. She had lived in Sulligent most of her life. She had retired from Munsingwear, loved sewing, working in her flowers, and taking care of her family.
She is survived by 2 sons, David Knight (Beverly) , and Joel Knight (Patricia) all of Sulligent, AL, 6 Grandchildren, Jared Knight (Dana), Joshua Knight (Amanda), Kayla Barnes (Logan), Britni King (Jacob), Danielle Fair (John), and Seth Knight (Maylee), 14 great grandchildren, son in law, Carl “Peanut” Northington of Sulligent, AL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lynn Knight, daughter, Karen Northington, grand daughter, Leslie Knight, 2 sisters, Reba Bailey and Ada Russell, and a brother, Victor Lucas.
Services held Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM from the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel – Sulligent with burial in the Pope Cemetery. Bro. Dwayne Hammontree officiating.
