Obituary of Wynette KelleyWynette Fugitt Kelley, 91, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 in Booneville. Born to the late Clovis and Syble Greene Fugitt, Wynette was a retired registered nurse, having worked at Northeast MS Hospital and the Medical Clinic for over 40 years. After her retirement, she helped take care of her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. They were her greatest joy and she never passed up an opportunity to talk about her part in raising them. She was a faithful member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and served teaching Sunday School for over 50 years until her death. She loved her family, and could remember the birthdays of all her nieces and nephews. She loved reading, especially her Bible, her church, her friends, watching Game Show Network, cooking Sunday lunch for her family, and having Saturday morning breakfast with her brother and niece. She was proud of her grandchildren and all their accomplishments. She loved watching her granddaughter play basketball and was able to see her grandson get his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. While she only had 2 biological grandchildren, she was “Mamaw” to many.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Mike Kelley and wife Saundra of Booneville; grandson Michael Kelley II and wife Caitlyn of Booneville; granddaughter Lee Ellen Kelley of Booneville; brother Boyd Fugitt of Booneville; her nieces and nephews, Tami Berrios, Bruce Church (Shelaine), Jim Bonds (Nancy), Ed Fugitt (Relda), and John Mabry; several great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of almost 43 years, Donald Kelley; brother, Orville (T. O.) Fugitt (Frances); sisters, Maxola Bonds (Billy) and Mozelle Kitchens (J W); sister-in-law Evelyn Fugitt; and nieces Brenda Mabry and Kathy Bonds.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Roberts and Bro. Mark Cagle officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. and will continue Sunday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School class members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 762, Booneville MS 38829.
