Wyna Ellen Harper Behel, of Greenhill, Alabama, passed from this life on October 5, 2026, at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. Behel attended Lipscomb University, where she met the love of her life, Robert Manson Behel. They were wed on June 3, 1956, and began their journey together as a young married couple in Greenhill, Alabama. Mrs. Behel spent her life as a homemaker and helpmeet to her husband as they raised four children on their farm. She was a member of the Killen Church of Christ, where she served in many areas of work for over 30 years. Along with her husband, she used her talents and biblical knowledge to teach Bible classes and minister to the sick and those in need in several congregations throughout North Alabama. Her dedication to the gospel and faithful support of her husband’s preaching influenced countless lives. Mrs. Behel was also a master seamstress. She used her passion for sewing to design and alter garments (including wedding dresses), to stitch quilts, and create many other items for family, friends, and those in need. At 89 years old, she continued to learn new technical skills needed to work with the latest professional sewing and embroidery equipment. Mrs. Behel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Manson Behel, her parents, Edward Ivy Harper and Virginia Gladys Eley Harper, and brother, Ivy Mark Harper. She is survived by four children, Keith Behel (Glenda), Kerry Behel Garrett, Kraig Behel (Rita) and Kaycee Behel Jenkins (Eric). She is also survived by six precious grandchildren, Haley Crowell (Zack), Emma Kate Brown (Alec), Mikayla Behel, Maria Behel, August Jenkins, and Kyle Jenkins. She has two precious great grandchildren, Mayer Crowell and Serin Crowell. She is also survived by two brothers, Larry Harper and Dan Harper, and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a cause dearest to you. The family would like to thank her primary care physician and dear friends Dr. Tim and Mrs. Pam Ashley for their unwavering care and loving concern, as well as the Clearview Cancer Institute and the NAMC ICU and Palliative care unit for their tender care. Funeral arrangements are as follows: Visitation will be at Killen Church of Christ on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, with the funeral service immediately following, also at Killen Church of Christ. Interment will follow the funeral at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama.
