Wren Levon Stout Wren Levon Stout passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at West Tennessee Post Acute Care in Jackson, TN at the age of 72. Born in Blytheville, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Robert Levon Stout, Esker Earl Wallace, and Bernice Stout Wallace.

Wren was a correctional officer for West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning, TN and retired on July 1, 2022 after 45 years of service. He received many medals during this time, including the Employee of the Year for Outstanding Service in 2021 and was known for his strong work ethic, fairness to all inmates, and love and respect for his fellow coworkers.  Wren’s exceptional character was displayed at an early age as evidenced when he won the coveted Armorel High School’s Citizenship Award for demonstrating a positive attitude, honesty and integrity throughout his high school years.

The other loves of his life were his family, motorcycles, country songs, exercising, and watching any movies with Burt Reynolds in them.  Wren never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.

Wren is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Sue Stout of Ripley, his children, Amy Stout of Ripley and David Stout (April) of Dandridge, TN; grandchildren, Kelsie Stout and Kenzie Stout of Dandridge, TN; brothers, Tim Stout (Teresa) of Daphne, AL, and Edwin Wallace, Sr. (Paula) of Blytheville, AR; sisters, Roberta Colee (Dana) of Jackson, TN and Mary Eary (Ron) of Batesville, AR; two aunts, Louise Valdez of Jonesboro, AR and Helen Jones of Blytheville, AR.

Pallbearers will be David Stout, Tim Stout, Edwin Wallace, Sr., Ron Eary, Dana Silas, Edwin Wallace, Jr., Barry Collier and Michael Mustion.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Garner Funeral Home, 305 Lake Dr, Ripley, TN. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with funeral services at 12:00 PM.  Interment will immediately follow at Ripley Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
