Woodrow Wilson York, Jr., age 66, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his residence.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.
Born on January 19, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Woodrow was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson York, Sr. and the late Glendora Callis Lee. Woodrow proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, tending to his garden, and riding his motorcycle. A talented handyman, he especially liked working on small engines, loved his dogs, Blue and Little Girl, and playing the guitar. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy.
He is survived by his son, Adam (Karen) York, brothers, Joe (Glenda) York, David York, sisters, Helen Kelley, Twilla (Robert) Shrake, Melissa York, Linda (Jimmy) Riddle, Mary York, grandchildren, Cash York, Ava York, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark Nay, William York, sister, Andrea Rich, and special friend, Diane Steele.
