Obituary of Woodrow Wilson Prewitt Jr. Woodrow Wilson Prewitt, Jr., 79, of Decatur, AL, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:30 PM at Roselawn with Pastor Blake Kersey officiating. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.

Woodrow is survived by his wife, Doris Pinion Prewitt; two sons, David and Carl Prewitt; four grandsons, Derrick Prewitt, Shane Prewitt (wife Brittany), Ryan Prewitt (wife Georgina), and Aaron Cushman (wife Emily); 2 great grandchildren, Dayton Prewitt and Elizabeth Cushman; one brother, Bill Prewitt and one sister, Barbara Ann Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Prewitt, Sr. and Thestus Hocutt Prewitt; sister, Mary Ellen Fox and brother, George Prewitt.

Woodrow was born in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School, and earned an accounting degree from Livingston State College. He and his high school sweetheart, Doris, married while they were in college. In 1969 he began a 35-year long career with Defense Contract Audit Agency. He and Doris along with their two sons moved many times throughout his career. They left Northport, AL to move to Cape Canaveral, FL. From there they went to Jacksonville, FL, Mobile, AL, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Enterprise, AL, and finally to Decatur, AL.

Woodrow was a devout Christian who loved God. He was devoted to his family, and he enjoyed playing many sports. League bowling became his favorite. He coached youth league bowlers and bowled in local, state, regional and national tournaments. He was blessed to have many friends everywhere and a family who loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Decatur, AL.
