Woodrow Taylor, age 76, of Phil Campbell, went home to be with his Jesus on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was at home and surrounded by the ones he loved.
Bro. Woodrow has been preaching for over 29 years and was the pastor at New Life Ministries. He was a hard worker and had worked for years at several different manufactured home plants. He was loved by everyone. He wore many names, husband, daddy, friend, and Pastor, but especially loved being a PawPaw to his grandchildren.
Woodrow knows now with absolute clarity what he has preached about for so many years. He was a great man of God that will be missed by so many. Such a loss for his family and friends, but we know there is rejoicing in Heaven. Woodrow would want to tell you “Yall need to be getting your eyes on Jesus and not on this world.”
He was preceded in death his stepson, Jimmy Ergle; parents, William Henry & Bernice Vernell (Wooten) Taylor; and brothers, W.C. Taylor and Jerry Wayne Taylor.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 38 years Minnie Prince Taylor; children, Deronda Tuck (Dave), Woodrow Dewayne Taylor, Celina O’Kelley (Mike Williams), Jenny Ergle, Billy Ergle (Paula); grandchildren, Brandi Tuck, Michalla Jones, Rebekah Tuck, Joshua Tuck, Blake Taylor (Lexi), Haley Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Carrie Burrell (Chris), Zoey Ergle, James Ergle, Brian Mather; great-grandchildren, Phoebe Tuck, Brock Jones, Scarlett Jones, Emma Jones, Leon Motes, Claire Burrell, Mileah Taylor, Stella, Sadie, Madison, Lucas; siblings, Carl Taylor, Betty Daniels, Carolyn Walton (Robert); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. A service of celebration of his life will be at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Paul Fox speaking at the service.
