CHEROKEE-The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation in the death of a Cherokee woman on March 27 after a reported domestic disturbance call was made.
According to records a an emergency call was answered by both the Cherokee Fire Department and the Barton Volunteer Fire Department at or around 5:00PM near the Old Lee Highway where a woman was found deceased.
Investigators say thefemale was found in the residence and was pronounced deceased. As of this posting investigators are still working the scene and processing evidence trying to determine the circumstances leading up to the death.
To date no other information regarding the death has been released.
