A Strong Cold Front Will Move Across Southern Tennessee And Northern Alabama On Wednesday…With Widespread Precipitation Expected To Continue For Almost 24 Hours Following Passage Of The Front.
Temperatures Will Fall Rapidly…With Rain Expected To Change To Freezing Rain Across Northwest Alabama And Southern Tennessee By Late Wednesday Afternoon. Freezing Rain Will Encompass The Entire Region Wednesday Evening…With A Gradual Transition To Sleet And Eventually Snow Expected To Occur From Northwest To Southeast Early Thursday Morning.
Ice Accumulations Of One Tenth To One Quarter Of An Inch Are Expected…Along With Sleet And Snow Accumulations Ranging From Around One Half Of An Inch In The Southeast To 2 Inches In The Northwest. In Addition To The Precipitation…North Winds Of 10 To 15
Mph Will Create Wind Chills In The Teens And Single Digits On Thursday Morning. Residents Of The Tennessee Valley Should Begin Preparations Now For This Significant Winter Storm.
