Winston Clay WalkerWinston Clay Walker, 55, died Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at his home.

He attended Randolph School and graduated from Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire in 1983. He entered Clarkson College in N.Y. state on a hockey scholarship. He also attended UAH where he was a member of the hockey team and even scored a hat trick against their fierce rival, Notre Dame.

In 1991, Winston won the Alabama State Amateur Golf Tournament in a play off with Sam Farlow and qualified for the U.S. Amateur Tournament in Hazelden, MN in 2006. He received a finance degree from Athens State College.

Winston was an avid fisherman, hunter and a wonderful cook. More than anything, he loved his family.

He is survived by his three children, Meredith, Ellie, and Clay Walker and their mother, Missy Walker; his brother, Carey Walker and his wife, Angela; and his mother, Jane Troup. He is preceded in death by his father, H. Carey Walker and his sister, Elizabeth “Libba” Walker.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Father Michael Goldsmith officiating.
