Winifred Marie Becker, 88, of Killen, Alabama, passed away Jan. 21, 2017, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was a child care provider, Past Mother Advisor – Order of Rainbow Girls #66, Member – Order of the Eastern Star – Helion #203, and a Christian.
Survivors include sons, David L. Becker and wife, Jan, Port Coquitlam, BC Canada, Steven C. Becker, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; daughter, Teresa M. Becker, Killen, Alabama; brother, John Hegarty, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; former husband, Harold Becker; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceeded in death by parents, Donald B. and Frances Springer Hegarty; brother, Donald Hegarty Jr., and sister, Mary Riedel.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at Greenhill Funeral Home from 3-6 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Greg Woodall officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery at noon on Friday, Jan. 27th.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home for their care and also to her church family and friends at First Assembly of God in Florence.
