Winford “Sticker” Allen Dowdy, 84, of Waterloo, passed away, Monday, September 11, 2023. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 3: 00 P.M. at Murphys Chapel with David Dowdy officiating.
Winford was a heavy equipment operator with the road department. He loved traveling with his late wife Bernice, gardening and loved his kids and grandkids dearly, he was a jokester. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ada Dowdy; daughter, Susan Davenport; brothers, G.W. Dowdy and Charles Dowdy; sister, Augusta Schifano.
He is survived by his children, Mike Dowdy (Sandy), David Dowdy (Mandy), and Sharon Spillers (Jeff); grandchildren, Jeremy Dowdy (Emily), Jamie Davenport, Shane Davenport , Brittney Dowdy (Jason), Casey Snell (Matt), Morgan Grisham (Jeremy), Kristin Roberson (Drake), Tanner Dowdy; great grandchildren, Anna Claire Dowdy, Sara Michael Dowdy, Kilee Dowdy, and Brody Grisham; sisters, Lois McCormick.
Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Florence nursing and rehab, especially nurses Brandy and Terry, Respiratory therapists, Andy and Chasity, Aveanna Hospice, nurses, Kelly and Judy , pastors, Wayne Wood and Larry Burbank.
