Funeral for Wilson Hood, 85, of Moulton will be Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Green, Bro. Robert Glaze and Bro. Bryce Tidwell officiating. Burial will be in Owens Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hood, who died Sunday, December 21, 2014, at his residence, was born January 18, 1929, in Lawrence County to Bro. James E. Hood and Mary Etta Carpenter Hood. He served in the Alabama National Guard and was honorably discharged on June 26, 1950 and retired as an aluminum worker for Reynolds Aluminum. Mr. Hood was a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Russellville. He served as a lifetime deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Potter Hood; his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include two sons, David W. Hood (Shelia) and Bro. Johnny Hood (Paula), both of Moulton; three daughters, Rebecca Hodge (Wayne), Glenda Oliver (Bro. Ronald) and Debbie Killen (Don), all of Moulton; one brother, Dempsey Hood of Oklahoma; one sister, Mary Lou Wilburn of Moulton; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hodge, Matthew Hodge, Wade Oliver, Brian Oliver, Andy Oliver, Joseph Hood and Tristan Blaxton.
