Wilma “Mama Dean” Duckett, age 92, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on March 8, 2026. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was loved so much by her family and many others and will forever be missed. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Albertville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Duckett; a son, Danny Duckett of Birmingham; three brothers, Willie J. Powell of Fyffe, Sylvester Powell and Larry Powell of Ohio; and four sisters, Jean Powell of Ohio, Othalua Nailer of Ohio, Sue Gregory and Vivian Townsend of Albertville.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Cooper of Guntersville; her sons, Randy Duckett and Tim Duckett (Marcey); daughter-in-law Vickie Duckett; grandchildren Dana Duckett (Misty), Kevin Duckett (Tonya), Nick Duckett (Michelle), Letha Cannon (Jeremy), Christen Duckett, Mallory Michael, Dustin Duckett (Morgan), Maddie Bruce and Luke Bruce; great-grandchildren Alivia Michael, Thaxten Land, Kaide Holsonback, Alleigh Miller, Logan Richards, Lenslie Richards, Lekili Richards, Brantley Cannon, Koal Duckett, Jake Duckett, Ella Duckett, Sawyer Duckett, Peyton Duckett, Londyn Duckett and Liam Duckett; great-great grandchildren Alanna Jade Cerrillo and August Cole Land; and a nephew, Gene Townsend of Albertville, and nieces Lynn Townsend and Kellye Wells of Scottsboro.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Wells, Keith Rhodarmer, Gary Nunally, Max Nunally, John Amos and Joey Martin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mount Calvary Baptist Church or Second Chance Food Pantry.
