Wilma Jean Walton Sartin was born to a sharecropper family on February 1, 1935, in the Hebron Community near Randolph in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, to Drew W. Walton and Artie Wages Walton. Wilma passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at her home in Pontotoc County
Survivors include her children include Shirley and Mitzi, her grandchildren Paul, Brad, Allyson, Matthew, and Ryan, her great-grandchildren Elena, Ayden, Caley, Ana Claire, Adrianna, Averi, Nora, Olan, Joseph, Joshua, Bayleigh, and Ellie, her brother David, and her sisters Joann, Marie, Linda, Lela, Katie, and Margie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shed Olan Sartin; her sons Dickie and Arnold; her parents; and brothers DC, Billy, Darwin, and Thomas, and her sisters Ernie Mae Lindsey, Theda Lindsey, Syble Franklin, Linda Sewell and Gerry Broadway.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Midway Memorial Gardens with graveside service to begin at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Good Samaritan Fund at the First Methodist Church, Pontotoc.
Pallbearers will include Bill Walton, Ty Walls, Jeremy Delaney, Lynn Sartin, and Tim Sartin.
