Wilma Harris Golden, born January 14, 1924 passed away at Barfield Health Care on March 27, 2024 at the age of 100. She was a native of Amory, Mississippi and daughter of John Carpenter and Flora Rinehart Carpenter. Wilma was married to James Tiffen Golden until his death in 1965. She was a member of Ketona Baptist Church and lived in Tarrant, AL.
Wilma worked at Hayes International Corp for 27 years and enjoyed her job as an electrical technician. She enjoyed her retirement years with her family and beloved grandchildren, talking for hours on the phone with her friends, shopping and traveling.
Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, James Golden; infant daughter Brenda Golden, sister, Mildred Isbell; son in law, Travis Jones and her parents, John and Flora Carpenter.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne (E.L.) Jones, Linda Jones; son, Jimmy (Cathy) Golden; five grandchildren, Lee (Shelia) Jones, Renee (Greg) Barnett, Blake Golden, Van Golden, and Garrett (Kim) Golden; one sister Faye West; she also leaves behind nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Holly Pond Cemetery in Cullman County, AL. Brother Mylon Metcalf will be officiating.
