Willis Ray  Whitt Willis Ray Whitt, 83, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home on February 26, 2021.

Ray was born on October 17, 1937 in Limestone County, Alabama to Houston and Velma Smith Whitt. After graduating from high school, Ray joined the navy for 4 years before returning to North Alabama, where he worked full time, began his family, and earned an accounting degree from Athens State University. Ray then started his career as a government accountant for the U.S. Army Missile Command where he worked for 34 years before retiring in 1996. Ray spent the next 25 years of retirement being a handyman for his children and anyone else that needed a helping hand. His life was symbolized through his love and devotion to his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Cleatus Whitt; his sisters, Doris Whitt, Reba Posey, and Joyce Whitt.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lucille “Ceil” Ellen Wheeling Whitt, Huntsville, AL: daughters, Jean Whitt, and Julie Whitt Burkman (Larry); sons, Tom Whitt (Pat Smith Whitt), and Mark Whitt, all of Madison, AL: 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Randall Whitt.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00PM Wednesday, March 3 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Father Bryan Lowe officiating. Funeral services will be at 1:00PM on March 3, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama.

Due to Covid-19 and the Statewide Mandate, Mask will be required and must be worn at all times when entering the building and while in our facility. Also we must practice 6 ft. social distancing and washing hands.
