Willis Dean Perry, 78, a good ole soul with a devilish personality, crossed over Jordan at 3:05 AM Monday, January 24, 2022 after a brief illness.  Dean was a piece of work!  He had a contagious laugh, enjoyed playing practical jokes on everyone and told the corniest of jokes.  He worked hard all his life and got things done providing for his family.  Dean was born in Thaxton on July 27, 1943 to the late Herman McClain Perry and Sally Inez Ray Perry.  He spent much of his working life in the oil field business and, at his retirement, was head mud engineer.  Afterwards, he worked in maintenance at Lee Memorial Park for several years. He married Brenda Fagg Perry on April 12, 1974, a marriage of 47 years. Dean cut a wide path during his earthly pilgrimage, enjoyed a large group of friends “of all types” and enjoyed the outdoors, bush hogging, gardening and riding on his Kubota tractor.  He was a member of the Church of Christ and a Mason.

The family will have a private family service.  Everyone is invited to join the family in a visitation which will be from 5 PM-7PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors.

Dean is survived by his wife, Brenda F. Perry; his children, Dean Perry (Kim), Mary Perry, Todd Beard (Amy) all of Wren and Kim Perry Ray (Jimmy) of Nettleton.  He was preceded in death by his son, Hansell.  Papaw leaves his grandchildren, Ashley Perry, Zachary Jones, Taylor Jones, Allison Perry, Ian Ward, Chasity Ray, Audrey Ray, Harmony Ray, Cadence Perry and Phoenix Hunter; 5 great grandchildren and one on the way. his daughter in law; Danielle Perry of Minnesota and all their families and a large circle of friends.
