Willis Aulden Raby Willis Aulden Raby, age 94 of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the VA Hospital in Nashville. A native of Moore County, he was born on June 26, 1926 to the late Willis Shofner and Vertie Lorena (Allen) Raby. Aulden served his country in the United States Army during World War II where he was stationed in Central Europe and earned the following medals: Army of Occupation, Victory, European African, Eastern Service, and Good Conduct. He then worked for CraftMoore Glove Company in Lynchburg and later retired from American Can in 1989, where he had worked in production. In addition to his parents, Aulden was preceded in death by his grandsons, Phillip Brown, Anthony Taylor, and Brad Raby; and siblings, Mary Burton, A.J. Raby, Bonita Rogers, Felton Raby, and Oliver Raby. He is survived by his loving children, Virginia (Donnie) Bracey of Fayetteville, Janice (Joe) Brown of Fayetteville, Connie (Billy) Taylor of Lynchburg, and Ronnie Raby (Marcia Hopper) of Fayetteville; sister, Deloris Smith of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jennifer, Steve, Todd, Trent, Laura, and Caitlin; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his four-legged best friends, Kate and Buck. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday, May 28, 2021 at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 29, 2021 in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery with military honors bestowed.
