Willie Ray "Bill" McQuary Willie Ray “Bill” McQuary, age 90, of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away January 19, 2024 at his home.

Bill was born January 21, 1933 in Wardwell, Mississippi. He was a hard-working man and did so as long as he could to provide for his family. He served in the military from 1954 to 1962, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He loved his family and was a very humble man. He loved to go fishing any time he got the chance. He loved growing vegetables in his garden and growing roses. His two favorite foods were homemade ice cream and watermelon. He loved his church and his Lord and Savior. A member of the church once told that Bill McQuary knew the Bible better than most preachers. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, and uncle to many.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie McQuary; his parents; brother, Leon McQuary; sister, Ovida Ward; and most recently his brother-in-law, Wayne Tucker.

Bill is survived by his son, Michael Ray McQuary and wife, Tina; his sisters, Jeanette Jones of Missouri, Margaret Gilliland of Hackleburg, and Nancy Tucker of Springville, Alabama.

Brother-in-laws, Truman Burkhalter and wife Bonnie of Carrollton, Alabama, and Ganus Burkhalter of Coaling, Alabama; sister-in-law, Mary Wilson of Russellville, Alabama.

Two granddaughters, Whitney Woods and Brittney Dotson; and his great-granddaughter, Maddie Dotson; his very special niece Sharon Hurst; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers, Larry Nix, Larry Camp, John Sheffield, Ronnie Anglin, Brian Shackleford, and Keith Brumley.
Honorary Pallbearers, Wade Hood, David Jennings, and First Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 23 at Hackleburg First Baptist Church at 1 P.M. Visitation will be Monday, January 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hackleburg First Baptist Church.
Bro. Sam Morgan and Bro. Todd Burkhalter will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery
