Graveside services for Willie Mae Lowry, age 92 of Cragford, will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Ashland City Cemetery with Pastor Calvin Pope officiating.

Born in South Alabama, Mrs. Lowry lived a life rooted in hard work, faith, and a deep love for the simple joys of life. In 1952, she moved to Florida with her first husband, where they worked as seasonal laborers picking cotton and oranges. During her time there, she also worked in a restaurant, demonstrating her strong work ethic and dedication.

She later returned to Alabama, where she married her second husband, A.V. Lowry. Together they shared 17 years of marriage, building a life grounded in love and companionship.

Mrs. Lowry devoted herself to her home and family as a homemaker. She found great happiness in horseback riding, fishing, and tending to her flowers. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she cherished the fellowship she shared with her church community.

She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the warmth she brought to those around her.

She was survived by her daughters; Latricia White (Michael) of Ashland, Louann Pope (Calvin) of Lineville, and Wilma Stewart of Cragford; her sons, Joe Lowry (Pauline), Gene Lowry, and Doston Lowry all of Cragford; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; twenty three nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Guin and Lois Oliver Guin; her first husband Joe; her second husband A.V. Lowry; three brothers, Robert, Charles and Denver Guin; five sisters, Eva Guin Graham, Catherine Guin Bozeman, Shirley Guin Mullins, Charlice Guin Murray and Betty Guin.

Active Pallbearers will be Tony Lowry, Scottie Lowry, Anthony White, Shawn Holroyd, Timmy Lowry, Floyd Stewart, and Michael White.

Her visitation will take place on Wednesday April 15, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.

The family is accepting flowers but would prefer donations be made to assist with funeral expenses.
