Evangelist Willie Jo Barney, 61, passed away on May 30, 2019 at 101 Sivley Rd SW, Huntsville, AL 35801. She was the wife of Pastor Donald E. Barney. They shared 22 years of marriage together.
Evangelist Willie Jo Barney was born in Alexandria City, AL, she was the daughter of the late Howard Shealey and Waydean Harrell Shealey. She attended Columbia College and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. She shared a business “Used Tire World” and co-pastored “The Hand of God Ministries” with her husband, Pastor Donald E. Barney.
Evangelist Willie Jo Barney will be remembered for her love for Jesus, strong knowledge of the bible, her powerful teachings of the word, nationally and internationally, her love for winning souls over to Christ, singing the gospel, her caring personality and eagerness to help the sick and the poor and her love for her family, church family and friends.
Evangelist Willie Jo Barney was proceeded in death by her sister Debra Barnes of Alexandria City, AL and her two grandchildren London Barney and Doniya Barney of Baton Rouge, LA.

Barney, her children, Latresha Ann Smith (Jermaine) of Atlanta, GA, Willie Alton Marbury Jr of Manassas VA, Vidalia Shatron Marbury of Atlanta, GA, Maria Elaine Marbury of Huntsville, AL and Araven Nicole Marsh (Christopher) of Huntsville, AL, Damien Barney of Huntsville, AL, Lamar Barney of Baton Rouge, LA, Donald Barney Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA. Her siblings, Reverend Larry D. Shealey (Joann) of Kellyton, AL, Sandra Bingham of Atlanta, GA, Howard Shealey of Alexandria City, AL, Terry Shealey of Alexandria City, AL, Juanita Kelley of Goodwater, AL, Bruce Shealey (Arlene) of Wetumpka, AL, Brenda Scotts of Alexandria City, AL, John Shealey of Dallas, TX, Barbara Shealey of Opelika, AL, Paula Russell of Alexandria City, AL, Wallace Drake (Mary) of Kansas City, KS,. Along with her grandchildren: Yonica Marbury, Travis Allen Jr., Isiah Allen, Zaniah Allen, Seth Mazunda, Robyn Wilson, John David Harris, Aaneshea Motton, Azarya Marsh, Lamar Barney Jr., Ja’Miya Barney, D’Myriah Barney, Kristyn Barney, Da’Leighia Barney and Demi Barney.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church( 6107 Blue Spring Road Huntsville, AL 35811) with Pastor Crystal Stalling officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Evangelist Barney will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 and 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Royal Funeral Home.
