Willie Glenn Ragsdale, age 90, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Marshall Manor Nursing Home.
Glenn was born on July 6, 1936. He graduated from Albertville High School in 1954 and married the love of his life, Myra Wright, on December 18, 1954. He was a member of Blessing Church of Christ, where he had faithfully served as song director, treasurer, and an all-around handyman. Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was drafted into military service on October 7, 1959, and served until September 30, 1965. During his military career, he was stationed in Vicenza, Italy, where he worked in special weapons.
Throughout his life, Glenn was a hardworking and dedicated man who held many positions. He served as the lead poll worker for District 4 for many years, drove a school bus for the Marshall County School System, worked as a home delivery salesman for Meadow Gold Dairies, and was employed at Redstone Arsenal. He was also a skilled carpenter and contractor who built many beautiful homes throughout the area and helped build the chapel at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home in Albertville. Glenn later worked in maintenance for the Marshall County School System, where he retired.
In his spare time, Glenn enjoyed raising cattle, caring for animals, and gardening. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, cousin, neighbor, and friend. Glenn was a wonderful example of a Christian man who loved God, his family, his church, his country, and his friends. Although he was never blessed with children of his own, Glenn had a special place in his heart for children. He loved them dearly and always showed kindness, compassion, and a gentle spirit toward every child he encountered.
Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myra Wright Ragsdale; his parents, William Ragsdale and Gladys Ragsdale; and his brother, Max Ragsdale. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Wright.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Dustin Brock officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Pack, Nathan Pack, Shane Pack, Jud Reynolds, Tony Kendrick, and Jeff Lawson.
