Funeral services will be conducted at McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church in Madison at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 23rd, with Bro. Johnny Carver and her brother-in-law, Judson Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson & Son Memorial Park in Lafayette with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 12:00PM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.
Mrs. Barnes was born on October 10, 1929 in Lafayette, Tennessee to the late Loid & Gracie Adamson Andrews. She was a retired Metro school bus driver with over 30 years of service and was later a hairdresser. She loved dancing and bowling. She loved her family, most especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Barnes was a member of McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Bunar Ellis; second husband, Forrest Barnes; brother, Billy Andrews; and sisters, Bobbie Andrews, Susie Trotter, and Betty Ellis.
Survivors include her sons, Merle Ellis and Barry (Robin) Ellis; daughter, Debbie Gilstrap; sisters, Brownie Morgan (Judson) and Nancy Brown; grandchildren, Nikki (Michael) Foust and Shawna Morrow; and great-grandchildren, Skyler Foust, Haylie Foust, Waylon Morrow, and Liam Morrow.
