It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Williams Jackson (Jack) Reed, at age 98.
He was born in Erick, Oklahoma, to Pierce William Reed and Mae Etta Hancock Reed. He graduated from Scottsboro High School and spent his career as a Master Machinist for NASA, in addition to being stationed in the Philippines when serving in the Army during WWII.
Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Benson Reed; daughter, Donna Jo Reed; son, Dale Claborn Reed.
He is survived by son, William Bruce Reed (Donna Dickson Reed); and daughter-in-law, Robin Pepper Reed; grandchildren, Jennifer Abernathy, Amanda Reed, Cheryl Clark, Clay Reed, and Ashley Beaty; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Reed will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home on Friday, December 6th, from 12:00-2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
