William Wesley “Wes” Griffus – Obituary

William Wesley “Wes” Griffus, 90, of Vina, Ala., died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Marion County, Ala. and was a farmer. He was a member of the Red Bay Church of God.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Ala. with Brother Gary Puckett and Brother Brian Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Shottsville Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala. will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are four children, Shirley Juanell Michael, Vina, Ala., Bobby Ray Griffus (Teresa), Greenhill, Ala., Janette “Jan” Sutton, Florence, Ala., and Jackie Waymon Griffus, Red Bay, Ala.; five grandchildren, Brian and Jason Sutton, Cyndy Cohen, Tisha Vanderbeck and Mikey Michael; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Will, MaKayla, Kennan and Zoe; and one sister, Victoria Duncan, of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby J. Emerson Griffus; and seven brothers and sisters, Lonar, Myrtle, Micky, Minerva Jane, Bryce, Victor and Marlon.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala.
