William Watson Malcolm – Obituary

William Watson Malcolm age 86, of Huntsville passed away on Dec. 26, 2016. He was born to William and Carrie Malcolm in Birmingham, where he was raised. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1948. He graduated from Auburn University in 1951 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He met his wife of 64 years, Jo Ann Henderson while at Auburn. He worked for TVA and later accepted employment at U.S. Army and Missile Command, where he worked in the Guidance and Control Directorate until his retirement in 1985.

He served with various volunteer positions with Hospice Family Care, Friends Inc., and Huntsville Assistance Program. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Huntsville.

Mr. Malcolm was preceded in death by his father and mother, William Malcolm and Carrie Watson Malcolm.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Malcolm, sons; David William Malcolm and his wife Sandy, Brian Lewis Malcolm and his wife Cheryl, three grandsons, Aaron William Malcolm, Jonathan David Malcolm and his wife Nicole, and Benjamin Evan Malcolm.

Visitation for Mr. Malcolm will be at Berryhill Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Service will follow at 2:00 with Dr. Travis Collins and Rev. Mark Seanor officiating. Graveside service and burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Debt Retirement, 600 Governors Drive, Huntsville, AL, or your favorite charity.
