William Travis BrewerWilliam Travis Brewer, age 85, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his residence.

Travis was a humble man, not arrogant or prideful. He was always willing to give a helping hand when needed. He loved sweet tea, gardening, and trips with his family. Travis was a quiet man but his laughter was contagious. He was a loving husband to Myra, wonderful Christian example to his two daughters, two granddaughters, and great-grandson.

James 4:10 “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.” Travis Brewer was lifted up on Wednesday and when he heard our Lord say “enter in thy good and faithful servant.” There was his daughter, Saloane, with open arms welcoming him as well.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 years, Myra Jean McNatt Brewer; daughter, Lavonda Brewer; grandchildren, Kalli Sutton Oliver (Matthew), Olivia Sutton; great-grandson, Hagin Ray Oliver; son-in-law, Jerry “Bull” Sutton; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Saloane Brewer Sutton; father, Uris C. Brewer; mother, Marie Gossett Brewer; and brothers, Loyd Brewer, Floyd Brewer, and O’Neal Brewer.

The visitation will 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 03, 2021 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Richard Parker. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the staff of Alabama Hospice of the Shoals and our nurses, Norma McLemore, Sherry Davis, and Grace Gunn for your care of our family.
