Obituary of William Thomas Witherow Mr. William Thomas Witherow, 86, died June 10, 2025, peacefully at his

home.

Mr. Witherow, born November 22,1938, was affectionately known as

“William Thomas” or “Willie” by those who knew and loved him. He was

raised on a farm in Pulaski, TN with humble beginnings. After leaving the

farm and joining the United States Navy, he married the love of his life

Carolyn Hall and settled down in Sanford, FL later moving to Winter Park,

FL. They were married for 62 years. Willie was a Jack-of-all-trades and in

the course of his life worked in several industries including being a part of

the Boeing team for the first Lunar Flight that helped put the first man on

the moon, landing his name in the Library of Congress. He later worked in

the railroad industry, namely Auto Train, and rose from the grease pits to

the Director of Operations, and eventually started his own business proudly

named Witherow Locomotive Service, Inc. He owned and operated this

business for 28 years before retiring. Willie was a proud father of three

daughters, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.  Willie often

credited all his blessings in life to his precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

whom he served faithfully. He was a member of the Sanford, FL Church of

God of Prophecy for many years serving in various positions as well as

being a Deacon there. Willie’s life truly came around full circle as he moved

back to his hometown of Pulaski, TN in the Campbellsville Community six

years ago. There he became reacquainted with many of his childhood

friends and joyfully became an active part of the Still Waters

Cowboy Church of Pulaski. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fixing

tractors at the 4Springs Cattle Farm where he lived with his wife, youngest

daughter Wendy, son-in-law Brett, grandson Huxley, and their dog Biscuit.

He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all. He is

preceded in death by his parents Thomas Walter Witherow and Alma

Sunshine “Sunny” Witherow, and brother Robert “Buster” Witherow.

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 14 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home,

Pulaski, TN.

Survivors include his beloved wife Carolyn Witherow; daughters Kaylyn

Smith and husband Bascom of MacClenny, FL, Jill Bryant of

Campbellsville, TN and ex-husband Jason, Wendy McNeil and husband

Brett of Campbellsville, TN; brothers Roger Witherow and wife Liv of New

Smyrna Beach, FL, Murrell Witherow of Campbellsville, TN, sister Ann

Sims of Pulaski, TN; grandchildren Caleb, Jordon and wife Haleigh,

Chelsea and husband Alex, Jevon and fiancé Alaina, and Huxley; great

grandchildren Haydon, Hunter, Kenzeigh, Harper, and Hattie and several

nieces and nephews.
