William Thomas Thorn was born August 2, 1937 to the late William Thorn and Mollie Robinson Thorn in Bishop, AL. He departed this life Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Tishomingo Community Living Center in Iuka, MS. He grew up in the Bishop, AL and Carter’s Branch, MS areas. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Liberty Baptist Church in Alabama. Lovingly called Thomas, he worked in farming, construction and for the County of Tishomingo, MS before retiring. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, caring for his chickens and talking with friends and family.

Services will be Thursday, March 1, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in Carter’s Branch Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, a special great-nephew and caregiver, Jamal Pope, other great-nieces and nephews, special friend, Bruce Morgan and a host of other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Sam, John and Thurmon and three sisters, Willie Mae, Ethelrine and Vera.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
