William Thomas Ferguson, age 81, of Empire, passed away at home June 30, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. W.T. is preceded in death by his parents, wife and grandson. He is survived by his brother and two sisters; loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a host of relatives and friends. W.T. was a loving brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a kind and gentle soul. W.T. loved to fish, read and spending time “yondering” with family. He proudly served our Country in the United States Army for 20 years. W.T. received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Badge, Expert Badge with Rifle, Expert Badge with Bar MI and Expert Badge Carbine. He was a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic as well as a Specialist and Instructor. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kindred Hospice of Jasper and the staff at St. Vincents MICU. Funeral services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral home, Friday, July 3, 2020. Visitation beginning at 0900 and funeral service at 1100.
