Mr. William (Squeak) Guy Smith, 78 of Mentone, Al. passed away Sunday. Squeak was a life long resident of Mentone, having been born to the late John Paul and Nettie Jane Crow Smith on March 28, 1941. He was loved by all, and loved all, and on any given day, would often come to town so he could see his friends. He loved the outdoors, working on old cars, fishing and his church, Mentone Church of God of Prophecy.
But most of all, he loved his wife of 54 years, Judy Gail Hasting Smith, Children, Nicole and Josh Goldsmith, Crystal and Ray Poteata, Chad and Amber Smith, Whitney and Crystal Smith Shan Smith and friend Heather Sandusky and Stacy and Karen Smith. 19 grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren, special pet Sophie. Brother, John Paul Smith, Jr.
A celebration of Squeaks life, will be 2 PM Thursday from Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with 2 of his sons (who are ministers) doing his eulogy. Burial will be in the Bankhead Cemetery, Mentone. Pallbearers will be his 6 children with honorary pallbearers being his 33 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday evening at Wilson Funeral Home.
