William Robert “Bob” Ray, age 96, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Waters of Springfield. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Jerry Converse officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2pm until the hour of service at 4pm.
Mr. Ray was born April 21, 1926 in Adairville, Kentucky to the late Ethel Dewey and Maggie Belle Hughes Ray. He was the owner of a grocery store and served in the US Navy.
In addition to his parents Mr. Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lee Mayberry Ray, grandchild, Caleb Gregory and his brother, Raymond Glenn Ray.
Mr. Ray is survived by his son, William R. Ray, Jr.; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Ray and Mike Boyles, and Kathie Ray Steele; 5 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
