William Richard “Bill” Phillips – Obituary

5498967cb6777-2550-4306-WilliamRichardPhillips, 84, of Florence, died December 21, 2014, in Huntsville. Visitation will begin today at 1pm at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 3pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Rev. Greg Woodard will officiate. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.

Bill was born in Lauderdale County and was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Greenhill. For 60 years he was a member of Local #760 of the Steamfitters and retired as supervisor from TVA after 37 years of service. Bill was also a member and Past Master of the Greenhill Masonic Lodge #402. During the Korean war he served in the US Navy.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Ada Phillips; brother, Rex Phillips and sister, Carlene Green. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Russell Phillips; sons, Rusty Phillips (Carolyn) and Barry Phillips (Tosha); daughter, Angela Danley (Ron); sister, Imogene Nichols; brother, Ray Phillips; grandchildren, Forrest Danley, Colleen Danley, Hannah Phillips, Wesley Phillips, Griffin Phillips, Jared Phillips, Makenzie Behel and Christopher Behel.

Pallbearers will be Ron Danley, Forrest Danley, Wesley Phillips, Griffin Phillips, Larry English, Ronnie English, Chip Phillips, and Tommy Green. Honorary pallbearer will be Jared Phillips.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Bill Phillips was a great husband and father. He was a good, easy going man that will be missed by his family and friends.
