It is with regret we announce the passing of Mr. William Ray King, age 89, of Fayetteville, TN. Mr. King was born on May 8, 1928 in Clifton Forge, VA to the late Ernest Lawrence and Mary Kirtner King. He enjoyed traveling, flying scale airplanes and working on his hobby farm. He served in the US Air Force and worked as a Electrical and Software Engineer with the US Government. Mr. King passed away on March 4, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Survivors include his wife Ingeborg Gruenberg King; sons, Ernest Lawrence King, Matthew David (Dana) King and Mark Alexander (Teresa) King; daughters, Elisabeth King and Paola Cristine (Louis) Cagle; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kirtner Karl (Jean) King. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Lawrence King, Jr.; and sister, Nowlan King Nichols.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. William Ray King.
