A Memorial service for William Otis Hughes is planned for Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Jon Adams officiating. Mr. Hughes will be buried next to his wife Amy at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Otis was born in Anniston, Alabama and graduated high school in Heflin. He immediately joined the US Air Force where he proudly served for 12 years. After leaving the service he moved to Clay County and began working at Koch Foods and remained there for 32 years. He was a loving, father, husband, son and brother.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Hughes of Oak Point, TX; mother, Dolly McCay(Earl) of Ashland; son, Adam Smith(Mei) of Ashland; sister, Faith Hughes of Ashland; brother, Keith Hughes(Angie) of Heflin; several other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded by his wife, Amy Hughes; father, Lawrence Hughes and nephew, Kale McElroy.
Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.
