Minister William Nathaniel Ervin, Jr., was born in Madison County, Alabama on May 6, 1940 to the late William Nathaniel Irvin, Sr., and R.B. Irvin. He transitioned this life and went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, July 23, 2019.
Minister Ervin accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at St. Elizabeth Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America in October of 1974. He was called to preach the gospel in 1992.
Minister Ervin’s educational training was at Council Training. He was employed at the City of Huntsville for 30 years until retirement. He had four brothers and two sisters to precede him in death.
He is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Mrs. Alberta Ervin; six sisters: Mattie B. Moore, Sarah Rogers, Annie M. Scott, Lorene Ragland, Johnnie K. Newby and Dillie Toney (James); two sisters-in-law: Elnora Vernon (Hosea) and Dora Fuller (Maurice); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Minister Ervin will always be remembered as a loving, kind man who loved to laugh and joke with family and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America ( 104 Perry Street Madison, AL 35758) with Pastor Columbus Waddle officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Minister Ervin will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing for Minister Ervin will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 26 2019 and 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Royal Funeral Home.
