William “Michael” Burgess, 73 of Jasper, AL, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
He served two terms in the Vietnam War with the Navy. He started work with Alabama Power Company in 1979 and retired in 2004.
Michael is survived by his Wife of 50 years-Landis; Daughters-Mandy Key (Jeff) and Shelly Burgess; Son-Matthew Burgess (Brittany); Sister-Mary Sharpe; Brothers-Archie Wayne Burgess, James Burgess and Samuel Burgess; Grandchildren-Emily Harper, Megan Chambers and Anna Key; Great Grandchildren-Aubrey Aaron and Jase Burgess.
Michael was preceded in death by his Parents-Archie and Fannie Mae Burgess; Grandson-Koty Henslee.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. Joe Fowler will officiate.
