Bro. Mike Bridges Bro. William Michael Bridges, 72, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at his home. He was born June 21, 1950, in Newton, MS, to the Rev. B.W. and Nylene Taylor Bridges. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and received his Master of Divinity degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. His work in the gospel ministry lasted almost forty years, with pastorates at Whittentown Baptist in Ripley, MS; Philadelphia Baptist in Nashville, NC; Elm Street Baptist of Petersburg, VA; Academy Baptist in Blue Mountain, MS; Black Jack Baptist in Vaughan, MS; New Home Baptist in Fulton, MS; First Baptist in Shannon, MS; and Kirkville Baptist in Marietta, MS, from which he retired in 2014. Bro. Mike loved his dogs and was an avid cook, especially known for his cornbread.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. David Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Deborah Bridges of Fulton; two sons, Doug Bridges (Libby) of Fulton and Dennis Bridges (Grace) of Sherman; two sisters, Annette Bullock (Danny) of Waynesboro, MS, and Dee Thompson (Eddie) of Hickory Flat, MS; and four grandchildren, Ramey Bridges (Alyssa), Michaela Bridges, Jane Bridges, and Clara Bridges.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. B.W. and Nylene Bridges.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Geniva Foundation, formerly Kindred Hospice, or to the Gideons International.
