William Larry Milstead – Obituary

WilliamWilliam Larry Milstead passed from this life Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, after an extended illness. He leaves behind his parents, Robert W. and Julia T. Milstead; two sisters, Mary Lisa Williamson and husband, Samuel, of Baton Rouge, La., and Leta M. Milstead, of Florence; one nephew, Mark Williamson and wife, Tracy, of Westfield, Ind.; and one niece, Shannon Williamson, of New Orleans, La. Larry was a member of the Jacksonburg Church of Christ, where he was affectionately known as “the gum man”.

After a private graveside service at Greenview Memorial Garens, there will be a public memorial service held at Jacksonburg Church of Christ Thursday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. where family and friends may gather to honor and celebrate his life and wishes. Garry Gooch will officiate.

The family would like to especially thank his team of doctors, Dr. Ricky Irons, Dr. Hisham Ba albaki, and Dr. Felix Morris, along with all the nurses in the CCU Unit for their care and assistance, and the elders, preachers, and members of Jacksonburg and Mars Hill churches of Christ for their loving support and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mars Hill Bibe School or Heritage Christian Library.
