Funeral for William Laron “Ron” Sims, age 61, of Danville, will be Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eric Dabbs and Brother Anthony Moore officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Miday Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sims passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 5, 1964, in Decatur, Alabama to William Murray and Linda Terry Sims.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Stephanie Sims; and step-mother, Gale Sims.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Renee Smith Sims; sons, Curtis Tyler Sims; and Jessie Taylor Sims; sister, Karen Sims Alexander, and several nieces, and nephews.
Ron loved fishing and being outdoors. He loved his work and especially his chickens, but most important he gave his life to the Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Randy Etheredge, Gwen Hardin, Richard Walker, Randy Alexander, Mike McAbee, Tim Steele, Ty Gray, Ben Allen, and Kevin Davenport.
