Master Sgt. USAF Ret. William Joseph “Joey” McDonnell Jr., 68, passed away May 13, 2016. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Rob Gulledge and Rev. Bruce Hose will be held at Southern Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. with the family receiving friends one hour prior. Friends are invited to join the family for burial at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 2:45 p.m. Joey was born in Seoul, South Korea and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. McDonnell Sr. and Esther A. Walker McDonnell and brother, John Michael McDonnell.
He is survived by son, Master Sgt. Samuel (Lori Miller) McDonnell and granddaughter, Caroline McDonnell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans Charity.
