It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their beloved William James “Billy” Staudt on September 24, 2015 following a lengthy battle with Cancer. Billy, 59, was a devoted Husband, Father, Papa, Son & Brother. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie, and they settled in Hartselle, Al. They celebrated 38 years of marriage in June. Billy is survived by his loving wife; 3 daughters Jamie (Darrell) Scronce & grandson Greyson; Laura (Thomas) Kirby & grandchildren Austin and Aubree; Teresa (Dustin) McNutt & granddaughter Bailey. Also survived by parents Jim & Monica Staudt; 2 brothers Bobby (Kris) Staudt & Family; Mike (Susan) Staudt & Family; and 4 sisters Kathy (Rex) Tankersley & Family; Pam (Andy) Pitman & Family ; Patty (Todd) Whatley & Family; Tarri (Doug) Drake& Family .

Billy graduated from Morgan County High school, Class of 1974. Following graduation, he attended 2 years of college while working at Intergraph where he ultimately became the executive manager for a software development team. Billy was a huge part of the success of Intergraph Public Safety and SG&I and he later retired after over 35 years of commitment.

Billy was a member of Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. He was an outdoor enthusiast-hunting, fishing, camping, & riding four wheelers. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and trucks with his family, and he spent much of his time in his or his Dad’s shop tinkering on a variety of projects. Billy had a brilliant mind and loving heart. His grandkids were his world, and they will forever hold dear to his precious memory.

Funeral services will be on Monday, September 28, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church in Decatur. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until Mass begins. Burial will be in the Hartselle City Cemetery. Peck Funeral Home is directing.
