William Jackson Rawls, age 70 of Athens, AL passed away at his home on Friday, August 18, 2017. Mr. Rawls was born on September 17, 1946 in Athens, AL to Alva Jackson Rawls and Elizabeth Hacker Rawls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Emily June Rawls.
Mr. Rawls is survived by his twin sister, Elizabeth Simpson (Don) and sister, Marjorie Brooks (Wendell); nieces, Mary Beth Gilliam and Angie Brown; nephew, Drew Simpson; great nieces, Kelsey and Alana; great nephew, Zach and numerous other family and friends.
Mr. Rawls retired from the Athens City School System. He taught Judo and was involved with it for over 50 years.
Services for Mr. Rawls will be 1:00PM Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Donnie Chapel officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 6:00-9:00PM. Burial will take place in Athens City Cemetery.
