William Jackson “Jack” McWilliams, 90 of Cherokee passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7th from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with J.B. Burns and Chad Holder officiating. The burial will be at Barton Cemetery.
Jack was a native of Cherokee, a proud member of Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a beloved teacher and farmer in the community of West Colbert County.
Although he changed religions 3 times, he liked to say he was born and died a democrat.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Bishop McWilliams; son, Danny Bishop McWilliams, Sr.; brother, John McWilliams; and sister, Evelyn Jones.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Susan M. Bolton (Chuck); daughter-in-law, Marilyn McWilliams; brother, Jimmie McWilliams; sisters, Helen Neff, Dorothy Todd, Sara Lou Tirey, and Marilyn Honn; 5 grandchildren, Danny B. McWilliams, Jr., Jennifer Mouchette, Laura Swint, Claire Bolton, and Emma Bolton; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Brian Johnston, Jeff Johnston, Luther Bishop, Benny Hearn, Bruce Morgan, Danny B. McWilliams, Jr., Trey McWilliams, and Johnny Bishop. Honorary pallbearers are his former students.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
