Funeral for William J. “Dow” Beene, age 75, of Moulton, will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Strickland and Bro. Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Beene, who died Wednesday, February 25, 2015, was born on March 1, 1939, in Lawrence County to George Washington Beene and Mattie Mae Norwood Beene. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Beene; three children, Sharon Beene Millsap, Ricky Beene (Peggy), and Karen Wise (Rodney); sister, Connie Mills; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
