Funeral service for Mr. William Howard Elliott Jr., 67 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon, Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Church in Courtland with Bishop Thomas Davis officiating and inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery.
There will be no Public Viewing.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, he went to be with the Lord at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus. He was born to the late William Howard Elliott Sr. and Annie Esther Mayes Moore on March 14, 1947 in Lawrence County Alabama. He confessed Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later united with Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Church where he served faithfully.
He was retired from Alabama Farmers Cooperative as a Machine Operator.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, William H. Elliott Sr. and Annie Esther Moore; one brother, Glenn “Butterball” Elliott.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Rose Braden Elliott of Decatur; five children, Tara (Ray) Metcalf of Murfreesboro, TN, Terrance (Jackie) Elliott of Huntsville, Timothy (Da’Latice) of Decatur, Tavares “T” Campbell and God-daughter, Nichole (Gregory) Chatman; six siblings, Tommy (Josephine) Elliott of Hillsboro, Wayne (Dee-Dee) Elliott and William Donell (Ceta) Elliott both of Louisville, KY, Thomas Elliott of Huntsville, Ana Elliott and Vicki Elliott both of Indiana; seven grandchildren, Taray Metcalf, Tavis Elliott, Tierra Elliott, Horatio Metcalf, Tensi Metcalf, Damien Drake and Antonia Drake; four great-grandchildren, Jayla, Makenzi and Alaiyah “The Boss” and Damia and a host of nieces, nephews, devoted brothers in-law and sisters in-law who loved him dearly, extended family and friends.
Flower Attendants will be nieces and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Chatman, Freddie Smiley, Jermaine Reynolds, Marquest Braden, Tracey Braden and Randy Clay.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Sykes and Albert Elliott.
