William Howard Cox Jr., age 74, died Monday, June 15, 2015. The family will receive friends for visitation today from 5-7 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Florence/Central Heights. The graveside service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Richardson Cemetery, Waterloo. David Dowdy will be officiating.
Mr. Cox was retired from Reynolds Metals Company and was a member of the church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Cox; parents, W.H. Cox Sr. and Ella Maude Cox; and sisters, Jane Stacey and Nancy Stovall.
Survivors include sons, Tony Franklin Cox (Sarah) and William Howard Cox III (Kimberly); daughter, Melanie Gay Pigg (Johnny); grandchildren, Daniel Pigg (Courtney), Emily Pigg, Ethan Cox, Madeline Cox, Lincoln Cox, Dallas Stricklen and Olivia Stricklen; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Ella Pigg.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Whitten, Keith West, Jay Lovelace, Thomas Brown, Bobby Stovall and Tommy Ray. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Reed, Vic Canerday and Jim Doss.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Richardson Cemtery Fund, in care of Waterloo Town Hall.
