William Harold Mitchell, age 74, of Russellville, Alabama went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:25 p.m. at MD Anderson Cancer Treatment in Houston, Texas surrounded by his family after a long struggle with lung cancer. He worked for the Russellville City School system for many years and was loved by so many.
He is preceeded in death by his wife (Reba Mae Simpson Mitchell), father (Lewis Mitchell), Mother (Bessie Fuller Mitchell), brother (Junior Mitchell).
He leaves behind a beloved son, Donnie Ray Mitchell, wife Charollette of Russellville, Alabama, daughter, Lisa Gail Whittington, husband Shane from Humble, Texas and his sister Norma Jean Dukemenier, Good Hope, Alabama. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Austin Whittington, Samantha Whittington both from Humble, Texas, J.T. Whittington, U.S. Army currently serving in South Korea; and two step-grandchildren, Marty Fisher and Bethany Fisher.
Visitation will be at Spry Funeral Home, Russellville, Alabama from 6-8 .m. Wednesday, February 01, 2017. Funeral service to be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 02, 2017. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens. Pastor Roger Jones will officiate the service.
